Recap

The video opens during World War II, with Captain America confronting Red Skull, who plans to use the Tesseract to make Hydra—and Germany—unstoppable. Steve reminds him that Hitler is dead, but Red Skull escapes. Steve later writes a heartfelt goodbye to Peggy Carter.

Decades later, SHIELD investigates a portal opening from Asgard. Loki arrives demanding the “magic cube,” attacks the agents, and leaves Fury convinced it’s time to assemble a superhero team. Meanwhile, Bruce Banner struggles with the idea that the Hulk might be used for good, and SHIELD revives Captain America from the ice—only to tell him he’s been frozen for 65 years.

Fury’s recruits include Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and the Wasp. Hank and Janet first team up to stop Whirlwind, using Janet’s shrinking skills to sabotage his armor. Janet responds warmly to the recruitment, while Hank is more reluctant. Tony, meanwhile, helps deal with another armored foe and can’t resist a few cold jokes.

The new team immediately clashes. Tony and Thor trade insults, Tony bristles at being lectured about weapons, and Thor gets called “Goldilocks.” The bickering pauses when SHIELD reports that Loki’s ally Crimson Dynamo has the Tesseract. During the ensuing fight, Thor’s hammer accidentally powers up Dynamo’s suit. Ant-Man and the Wasp eventually get inside the armor and disable it, with Hank complaining that Dynamo’s suit needs a wash. The heroes recover the cube, but Loki is still on the loose.

The ending hints that something is wrong within SHIELD: Banner is unsettled by the sense that the team wants to use the Hulk rather than befriend him, and Loki declares that his plan has begun.
