Guilliman and the Armour of Fate

A new Space Marine Codex passage suggests that the xenos components in Roboute Guilliman’s Armour of Fate may be failing, potentially allowing Fulgrim’s ancient poison to threaten him again. The presenter emphasizes that this is a single, ambiguous reference—not confirmation that Guilliman is dying.

The passage could describe a fresh flare-up of Fulgrim’s poison, but it may also conflict with earlier stories in which Guilliman gradually spends longer outside his armour. Cawl, the Eldar, or the Emperor could potentially help address the problem.

A new Guilliman miniature seems likely, though it has not been confirmed. His current model is aging, and the armour’s possible failure could provide a story reason for a change in his appearance. Guilliman has previously tried removing the Armour of Fate, enduring pain but surviving for increasingly long periods.

The presenter also notes that Guilliman’s repeated near-deaths and rescues have made the Emperor and the Eldar important to his survival.

The Ynnari and Other Xenos

The Armour of Fate storyline could create an opportunity for the underused Ynnari and Eldar. In The Wicked and the Warped, the final Crone Sword is reportedly in Trazyn’s collection rather than Slaanesh’s palace, and an Eldar–Inquisitorial mission is already being set up to retrieve it.

More broadly, the presenter argues that the Eldar and other xenos factions need more consequential stories, and hopes the Ynnari plot will advance. Any resolution involving Ynnead and Slaanesh would need to account for Slaanesh’s continuing place in the setting.
