Pre-shot Pass (PSP) Overview

The video explains the concept of a Pre-shot Pass (PSP), which is used exclusively in provision live collections.

Definition

A pre-shot pass is the pass made immediately before a shot that leads to specific shot outcomes such as:

• Goals
• Shots on goal
• Misses
• Shots hitting the iron

Important Considerations

• If the shot is blocked by a teammate or opponent, the pre-shot pass should not be tagged.
• The tagging process involves:
  1. Tagging the shot normally.
  2. Going back to tag the pass that led to that shot.

Special Cases

• Pre-shot passes are treated like regular passes.
• In cases of deflection shots, these should be tagged as shot passes instead of pre-shot passes.
