Summary

Texas Senate Race and Early Voting

With the midterms one week away, President Trump made his fourth campaign trip to Texas to support Republican Ken Paxton, who is running neck and neck with Democrat James Tallarico. More than five million Texans have already voted, and turnout is elevated in several other states.

Tallarico criticized Paxton’s record and the substantial financial support he has received from Elon Musk. The report also featured a former Trump supporter in the Rio Grande Valley who said her views changed after her brother was deported. Trump said he would accept the election results if he considered them honest.

Israel Election

Exit polls suggested Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc was trailing the opposition led by Gadi Eisenkot, potentially leaving Netanyahu unable to form a government. The election was described as a referendum on Netanyahu’s leadership, including warnings before the October 7 Hamas attack and his handling of the Gaza war. Results were still developing.

Coastal Flooding

Exceptionally high tides flooded homes, streets, and businesses in South Florida and along California’s coast, prompting rescues and efforts to protect homes. A man was seen kayaking on the 101 freeway.

Ginger Zee said the full moon was driving the king tides, with El Niño-related ocean warming also contributing. Coastal flood advisories and strong winds were expected to continue.

Manhunt for Escaped Prisoner

Authorities launched a multi-state search for Jacob Morley, a Tennessee inmate serving a life sentence for murder. Investigators said he escaped from prison, stole a pickup truck, and abandoned it in Illinois. Officials warned the public not to approach him.

Alexander Brothers Sentenced

Oren, Tal, and Alon Alexander were sentenced to 30 years in federal prison after being convicted of sex trafficking and sexual abuse. Eleven women testified that they had been drugged and assaulted. The judge called their conduct “monstrous.”

The brothers plan to appeal. Prosecutors said they had inflicted serious harm on numerous women.
