Four Basics of Hearing God’s Voice (Andrew Wommack)

Human conscience
- The broadest, most foundational witness available to everyone.
- Honor and listen to it; don’t habitually violate it.
The written Word of God (Scripture)
- God-breathed and the primary channel of direction.
- Treat Scripture as active instruction, not a “dead book.” Read, study, and obey it.
Your born-again spirit
- The renewed spirit gives supernatural inner knowing and unction.
Specific guidance from the Holy Spirit
- Personal, detailed direction that becomes available once the foundations above are honored.

Seed = Word of God; ground = hearts. The parable explains four soil types and why the Word may or may not produce fruit:
- Hard-packed soil: the Word never penetrates; Satan steals it (see Matthew 13:19). Requires understanding and openness.
- Rocky/shallow soil: people receive the Word with joy but have no root; persecution or affliction causes them to fall away.
- Thorny soil: cares of the world, riches, and lusts choke out growth.
- Good soil: the Word takes root and yields fruit (30x, 60x, 100x).
Core point: the seed (Scripture) never fails. Failure to produce fruit is due to heart condition, opposition, or lack of depth — not the Word itself.

Honor and listen to your conscience; keep it sensitive.
Read, study, and obey Scripture; apply biblical boundaries to decisions (many moral choices do not require extra “special” words).
Get root and depth: pursue teaching, discipleship, and regular time in the Word so convictions survive trials and persecution.
Expect opposition when the Word is taking root; don’t waste energy defending reputation — stay committed to ministry and obedience.
Cooperate with spiritual laws: plant the Word, allow time for growth, and cultivate inner transformation rather than seeking short-term fixes.
Value teaching: teachers help move the Word beneath the surface into understanding and lasting change.
