Episode 17 Recap

Kismat remains unconscious after being hit by a car while Siddhi waits anxiously at the hospital. When Kismat finally wakes, she is relieved to see Siddhi. Siddhi keeps her distance, insisting she came only out of concern and that they should not pretend to have a husband-and-wife relationship. Kismat is quietly pleased to hear Siddhi call her her wife, but hurt that Siddhi still loves Kashish.

Kashish is suspicious of Siddhi and Kismat’s relationship and tries to figure out how they fell in love. She also has an awkward confrontation with a girl she has been seeing: money troubles suggest the relationship may not be as sincere as Kashish hoped. At the hospital, Kashish tells Kismat that she still loves Siddhi. Kismat says she did not know Siddhi was marrying her and suggests she will help bring them back together.

After Kismat is discharged, Kashish takes Siddhi to college. She is visibly bothered by Siddhi’s wedding clothes and mangalsutra, but masks her feelings with teasing and insists that Siddhi belongs with her. At college, Kashish announces that Siddhi is married to Kismat, leaving her girlfriend stunned. When a teacher asks about the wedding, Kashish confidently explains that Kismat comes from a prominent family, and the conversation quickly moves on.

Back home, Kismat’s grandmother makes a baffling, cruel remark about Kismat having “eaten” a grandson, leaving Siddhi confused. Kashish needles Siddhi about being jealous and tries to persuade her to stay in her room. As Kismat recovers from her injuries, she asks Siddhi for help changing clothes. Uncomfortable with the closeness, Siddhi calls Kismat’s mother instead. Their awkward exchange about whether Siddhi still has “wife’s rights” keeps the romantic tension simmering.

A call from Payal brings the episode’s clearest moment of jealousy. Kismat offers to help Payal find a job and compliments her, saying he liked her at first sight. Siddhi immediately takes the phone and insists there is no need for Kismat to speak with Payal. Kismat is left wondering what she did to make Siddhi so angry.

The lighter moments continue when Kismat’s mother brings her soup. Kismat dislikes the taste and tries to get Siddhi to help her avoid drinking it, but Siddhi makes sure she finishes the bowl. Kismat can barely believe Siddhi actually drank it and keeps accusing her of secretly throwing it away. The episode closes with Payal visiting to borrow college notes, though the narrator hints that she may have another reason for coming.
