Summary

Aradhya’s father discovers her book and, after misreading a conversation and a pani puri outing as evidence that she is involved with a boy, slaps her and tears up the book. He also forbids her from seeing Rida. Aradhya can barely defend herself through her tears, while her mother quietly comforts her.

Rida is frantic when she hears what happened, but Aradhya ends their phone call before she can explain much. That night, Aradhya worries that her father will discover her feelings for Swastika, along with the sketch and memories she has written in her diary. The next morning, she carries the diary with her, still shaken and hiding the mark on her cheek.

On the train, Swastika notices Aradhya’s bruised cheek and tearful eyes. When Aradhya admits that her father hit her, Swastika comforts her, helps soothe the bruise with ice, and urges her to speak up rather than accept being hit. Aradhya finds enough comfort to fall asleep against Swastika’s shoulder. Later, Rida promises to keep Aradhya’s diary safe and reassures her that she won’t read it.

For a few days, Aradhya and Swastika manage only brief meetings, as her father’s restrictions keep them apart. Then, during a crowded train ride, Aradhya spots someone trying to steal Swastika’s phone. She grabs the thief’s shirt and helps bring him down, injuring her hand in the struggle. Swastika gets her treated and gently scolds her for risking her own safety.

The delay brings Aradhya home late. Her father, waiting at the station, slaps her in front of the crowd before hearing what happened. Swastika steps in and explains that Aradhya was helping stop a phone theft and was injured. Aradhya urges Swastika to catch her train, and Swastika leaves only after asking her father to listen to his daughter.

At home, Aradhya’s mother asks about her bandaged hand, but Aradhya says nothing as tears fall. The episode ends on a tense cliffhanger, with the narrator warning that things will get worse.
