Summary of "Unleashing Healing Power Through Spirit Born Emotions - Session 2"
Overview — core idea
The session contrasts two “kingdoms” of emotion:
- The old self (kingdom of darkness) produces fear, lust, anger, shame, anxiety and disease.
- The new self (Kingdom of God) produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness and health.
Emotions arise from thoughts plus mental pictures; changing thoughts and pictures changes emotions and therefore physical health. Jesus’ work on the cross supplies specific kingdom provisions you can believe, picture, and feel — replacing old beliefs, producing kingdom emotions, and supporting healing and vitality.
“Whatever you gaze at grows within you.”
How thoughts and emotions work
- Emotions = thoughts + mental pictures.
- Change the thought or the picture and you change the resulting emotion and its physical effects.
- Repeated, intentional practice of replacing beliefs and cultivating kingdom pictures leads to lasting internal changes in emotion, behavior, and physical well‑being.
Sources of thoughts (three flows)
- Your own reasoning — meant to be done “with God” (reason together; test thoughts).
- Satan/demons — accusation, condemnation, division; thoughts that accuse, condemn or demonize are likely from the enemy.
- The Holy Spirit — comfort, conviction without condemnation, revelation, encouragement.
Practice discerning the source and “bring every thought captive to Christ.”
Key wellness / self-care / productivity strategies
- Identify the source of spontaneous thoughts:
- Reject thoughts that accuse, condemn, judge or demonize (treat as from the enemy).
- Embrace thoughts that comfort, edify, honor or guide toward godly action (from the Holy Spirit).
- Bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ: deliberately examine, reject, or replace thoughts that produce old-kingdom emotions.
- Replace old beliefs with Kingdom beliefs through a regular devotional practice (see the devotional steps below).
- Use godly imagination and picturing (meditation/pondering) to create new mental images that produce Kingdom emotions (love, peace, joy) rather than replaying fearful pictures.
- Journal brief reflections on each new belief or provision (one or two sentences per item) to reinforce internalization and clarity.
- Create visible reminders (art, poster, “tree” visualization) of the new-creation truths; review daily to reinforce new mental patterns.
- Refuse to “soak up” other people’s negative spirits (political, religious or professional attacks); choose honor and respect instead of dwelling in judgment and condemnation.
- Pair thinking with God — reason together rather than relying solely on isolated self-reasoning.
Practical productivity / self-care outcomes emphasized
- Emotional health directly affects physical health: persistent fear, anxiety, shame and anger are linked to digestive problems, insomnia, heart issues, immune weakness, ulcers, increased cancer risk, arthritis, etc.
- Kingdom emotions (joy, peace, gratitude, acceptance) support restful sleep, strong immunity, reduced pain, vitality, and overall healing.
- Regular practice of replacing beliefs and cultivating kingdom pictures leads to lasting changes in emotion, behavior, and physical well‑being.

Practical step-by-step devotional method
- Play the guided “New Creation Celebration — Replacing Beliefs” (22 minutes).
- Ask the Holy Spirit: “Which old belief should I renounce today?”
- Repent and verbally renounce that belief; intentionally replace it with a kingdom belief.
- Picture the new belief (visualize it); gaze on your identity in Christ for 5+ minutes.
- Journal 1–2 sentences about the new belief/picture and its effect.
- Repeat daily; continue several weeks (4–6 weeks or longer) until the change feels natural.
Suggested cadence: try daily for one week to begin, then continue 4–6 weeks to internalize the beliefs and emotions.
